Piano Concerto (To Peace)
The Piano Concerto to Peace was presented with pianist Nathalie Joncas under UNESCOs auspices. This piece was highlighted by the Montreal Popular Concerts series in Montreal’s Maurice Richard Arena to an audience of 5000 people.
The OSJL-L Symphony orchestra was conducting by maestro Andre Gauthier.
The newspaper Journal de Montreal cover the concert and acclaimed the Mr. Panayoti Karousos as a new popular composer that captivates audiences with lyricism.
The Piano Concerto became the soundtrack to filmmaker Jenna Constantine's movie If Aphrodite Had Arms. This magnificent Karousos’ work also featured in the Vassilios Chrissochos’ action-adventure-comedy film Attila Attacks!
The Piano Concerto is formed in three movements, Allegro – Adagio – Cantabile.
The orchestration is thick for a full symphony orchestra with motives played by the French horn and the trombones. The first part of the work is the most complicated with elements of the classical form of fuga in a lyric elevation.
The very emotional second part is a funeral march dedicated to all heroes that died in order to obtained peace in the world.
The third part is an hymn to peace, very melodic and full of romantic exaltation of lyricism.
